java script 5.6

I downloaded java 5.6 from the internet. Now I need to get rid of it, but I cant't tell for sure which files they are. There are a bunch of files in search that say java or script or dll, but I'm afraid of deleting something I need. I there a previous version that is standard in windows ME, and if so how do I know the difference? Thanks to anyone who knows. Wendy
